I agree about Jaime, I'd really been hoping it was an upward path for him. But sadly as disappointing as where they took it is, it can hold to a coherent throughline for the character to have regressed. I'll have to dwell on Tyrion and get back to you.

Thought you might like watching these before the Sunday finale if you have a bit of time - I enjoyed them.

Anyone else having a finale party? The GF is having group of peeps over for the final GoT watch party. Snacks will be provided, but BYOD!

I won't watch it as it airs in the UK as it is 2am Monday morning. Not that I'm not often up and around at that time but noone I watch with is and I've gotten grief in the past for watching things first during the small hours and not waiting. Monday evening though, yep, snacks and drinks. But that's the norm.

              Ha, totally did.

A mildly amusing speculation on what Bran was up to over the course of the last ep... https://www.theringer.com/game-of-th...urned-daenerys

I'm having a party of one but I'm going to have some time of it - plan to watch couple of the earlier episodes before the finale -

Anyone have favorite characters? Mime have always been Arya and Jon from the start and then Jaqen H'ghar followed by Varys. Two characters that I pretty disliked and hated were Shae and Euron Greyjoy - I pretty much hated Euron. I would have had Drogon fire Cersei and Euron or had both falling to their deaths in the Hell Fire Storm that Dany created.

Thanks for the link - I sure as hell wished that more exploration of Bran would have been part of the last two season - the, IMO, wasted screen time on Euron could have been divided between both characters.

Jaime, Tyrion and Arya are my favourite characters. I have only read the first of the books and adored Bran in that but really couldn't take to his screen character. Whether I'll feel like that about him in the books too when I eventually carry on reading them I don't know, I hope not.

I'm going to avoid browsing the internet tomorrow like crazy so that I avoid any spoilers.

                    OK, Well that was something...
                    Spoiler:
Guess House Stark really swept up at the Game of Thrones Brothel & Casino. Let's recap shall we...
Bran the Three Eyed Ravenclaw is the leader of the Seven...er Six Realms, Sansa is Queen of the North, Jon still knows nothing, but is (kind of sort of) King of the real North, and Arya's exploring the seven hells...er seas. Not bad for a House that, only a few seasons ago, was on the verge of extinction! Not too mention that Westeros just became a Republic of sorts.

I know Metda will have watched it (because of the time difference) but have you seen it Priceless?

It works well as a an end to the book series, IMO. The series is basically about the Starks. But D&D wasted a fair amount of last season, and then rushed this season. The mix was way off. Still, I like what was done with main characters - where they ended up made sense to me.
Can we agree that the writers made everyone do and say everything with a thought to getting good ratings and being renewed. This includes everything we love as well as everything we hate.

See...I'm so bloody law abiding! I could have watched it (legally) at 2.00 but I was tired. I've recorded it but I have this quandary: can GoT be watched in daylight hours or is it a "night-time" programme only? I mean "day/night" conceptually though in practice it's a problem 'cos I've got a damned plasma telly and all I can see in daylight hours is a reflection of the rest of the house!

I can't wait till everyone has watched it so I can hear everyone's views. Without spoilers, I thought the ending was ok, though not amazing. One of your favourites reappears and I think you'll enjoy that.
