Announcement: Seasonal Spuffy Rises Again!

I was really hoping for one of the other themes that I had an immediate idea for. Ah well, I'll let 'dark carnival' wash over me a bit and see if anything bubbles to the surface. I'll definitely read/view/comment at the least though. Looking forward to it.

It wasn't my first choice either (not in the first voting round anyway) but I can see some things I could do with it. And the theme has the potential for good fic.

I love this, huge thanks for sharing. It's really helpful for trying to start to build feeling/associations that might lead to a piece. I'm not sure it's a tone that appeals much to me for a Spuffy fanart piece, but I can see why it might have stood out to others. I'll dwell.

Just go ahead and post it anyway! The theme is just meant for inspiration; it's not mandatory. In other words, you're entirely free to ignore it. (You won't be the only one; I've done it plenty of times myself.)

I am just going to post the first chapter of my not-yet-finished fic. I decided it is time to put some pressure on myself to get going.

It does not fit the theme but I am gonna be creative and find a way to make it fit.

Did you have an idea for a fanfic or for fanart, Pricey?

Oh wow, I missed this! I would love to post a chapter but.... a) I don't know if I have the courage yet and b) I'm not sure exactly what 'deja vu' *is*? (sorry I'm so clueless) Plus I don't think any chapter applies to a specific theme (or if I have flow's courage ) But thanks for the encouragement!

eta: Ah, I just checked - the chosen theme is Dark Carnival ...I'll see if I can make a chapter fit with that. I'd thought deja vu was a website - but actually deja vu would have been an easier theme lol

Did you notice someone by the name of eurydice72 is participating? Do you think it’s THE Eurydice? The one who wrote Legions Of true hearts, promise of frost, beg the liquid red and so on? She (if it’s her) hasn’t written Spuffy for a long time. I‘d love to read something new by her.

I did notice the name! Not sure if it's the same person . . . just checked her profile on LJ and yes, she says she did used to write Spuffy but got too busy (husband and 2 kids etc.). You should join LJ and say hello to her, say we'd like some more Spuffy please

To reiterate: as I told flow, the theme is only there to inspire. If you've already got your idea, then the theme is superfluous for you. You don't have to do anything at all with the theme if it doesn't fit into your work. Your entry just has to be Spuffy, yours, previously unposted, and not an all-human AU. I personally ignored all themes for a couple of years straight, and as you can see they didn't exactly kick me out of the comm for that.

Also, yes, that is exactly the Euridyce you're thinking of! ^^ "Beg the Liquid Red" debuted on Seasonal Spuffy, as I just noticed by checking her creator tag. I'm thrilled she's planning to participate! I think outright asking her to write more Spuffy would not be a good approach, because that can stress an author out, BUT she might like to make some new Spuffy friends, as she did just make a public LiveJournal post asking where people talk about Spuffy these days. I told her here, among other places.
