  • Buffyworld not available

At the moment the site seems to be closed and with it are all the shooting scripts gone.

The site is still available via waybackmachine.

Does anyone know if this is only temporarily because of a technical glitch?

Oh christ I knew this would happen sooner or later. I just wishes I'd copied down more transcripts. Damn!

Oh wow, I just checked you're right. That's strange. I hope it's temporary.

Well, I just looked online again and at least there's this site with transcripts for all the seasons: http://www.buffy.de/buffy/en/default.php?x=en
      .

I have downloaded the shooting scripts (at least most of them) but not the transcripts.

I've just tried wayback and some of the shooting scripts/ transcripts are still showing, so thats something I suppose. I wish this forum could get It's act together and sort out what they're intending to do in the long run, because every time I come here I expect to see the forum is gone. I'd put money towards keeping both this and the other section going.

I've just checked the phone number at the bottom of the BW page I'm getting - this

            https://itknowledgeexchange.techtarg...bsite-offline/

gives various reasons it could have happened.

Normally It's because the owners have lost interest/don't want the site anymore and haven't paid the bill sadly. Thats what I' expecting is going to happen to this place.

That’s a huge loss if it’s permanent. Not only would it be an end of an era but it’s collection of shooting scripts was brilliant. It was extremely handy to refer back to when discussing the show and it was a fabulous insight into what the writers intended to convey. Not only that, but it was always really interesting to see the scenes/lines that were cut from the episodes.

The transcripts were also really valuable but not as big of a loss IMO. Anyone can rewatch an episode and redo them. The shooting scripts could’ve possibly been lost for good, though

It looks as though it might be as Silver suggests. One of the problems could be the Domain name. If there's to be a new Buffy, the name might have become more valuable.

I think It's more likely that the owners either can't afford or don't want to It anymore as they've moved on.

Buffy as a brand Isn't that important, and I suspect we won't be seeing a live action reboot for quite some time (If ever).

Yeah I’m surprised it has lasted this long. When the main page went down years ago I had expected the entire site to go shortly after. It’s a miracle the shooting scripts/transcripts lasted as long as they did and that the owner kept paying for the site to remain up when it has no active forum anymore.

I could have sworn I visited the site pretty recently and it was working? Which is why this surprised me.
