Top Five TV Shows of All Time

    1. Mad Men
    2. The West Wing
    3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    4. The Sopranos
    5. Frasier

    Top Five Present TV Shows
    1. The Crown
    2. Better Call Saul
    3. Game of Thrones
    4. The Good Place
    5. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Amendment: I deeply love Fargo, American Crime Story, and Big Little Lies. I think they'd even displace my Top 5. However, I wasn't sure how to place Fargo and American Crime Story because those series are anthologies which changes story and cast every season and Big Little Lies has just had one season and it's second season is too much of a mystery compared to Mrs. Maisel because it exhausted its source material/book. And The Handmaid's Tale has made me gunshy about that because it's first season was very good but it's second season (deviating from the source material) was far lesser.

Top 5 TV Characters of All Time
    1. Willow Rosenberg
    2. Don Draper
    3. Tony Soprano
    4. CJ Cregg
    5. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce

    Top Five Favorite Book Characters
    1. Scarlett O'Hara (Gone With the Wind)
    2. Dagny Taggert (Atlas Shrugged)- read subversively as an anti-heroine
    3. Jo March (Little Women)
    4. Clyde Griffiths (An American Tragedy)
    5. I have a hard time breaking this tie- Hercule Poirot (many mysteries) or Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter)- read subversively as an anti-hero

    My favourite BtVS characters:

    1. Buffy (Mostly because of the first four seasons. Still, miles ahead of the number 2.)
    2. Giles (Also because of the first seasons.)
    3. Cordelia
    4. Oz
    5. Xander (in the last seasons)

Yeah, I love early!Buffy a lot. Not a huge fan of the others.

    Top 5 Ats characters:

    1. Angel (minus season 5, but I think I could say that for pretty much all Ats characters.)
    2. Wesley
    3. Connor (Not really a joy to watch, but certainly one of the best characters IMO)
    4. Cordelia (in the first two seasons and in YW.)
    5. Gunn (Never really the star, but I'm fond of him anyway)

When I moved back, I tried to cancel the second licence on line but the BBC required a letter as proof I'd moved out of the flat. A letter!? Who has letters? Who writes letters? Who sends letters? Not people with apathetic arms...I hate the BBC!

I'm procrastinating - I'm trying to persuade my employers to pay me more - it'll probably just cover the extra, unnecessary, TV licence!
How old were the lads when you left them? I hope they were old enough to at least make beans on toast and use the washing machine and you didn't leave them smelly and starving Did you only most back when they'd moved out?

Years ago I sold my telly and stopped my tv licence and when I rang to inform the licence people of this, they simply accepted it. I expected a knock on the door and a licence-man there, come to check my truthfulness. But of course that never happened.

Now I have Netflix, and about a zillion options of things to watch, and hardly watch anything!

I'm guessing you don't watch so much tv because you actually have a life

    Five questions I'm asking myself:

    1. Why am I paying for two TV Licences when I only have one property?
    2. Why am I paying for Sky when I haven't switched the TV on this year?
    3. Why did I "lend" the Amazon Fire Stick to the lads and why did I expect to get it back?
    4. Why am I paying for Amazon Prime and not watching Prime Video?
    5. Why does my mother have the spare Netflix account and not me?

These are all such important questions that deserve high levels on answering

I'm guessing you don't watch so much tv because you actually have a life

It does have a lot of creepy suspense, but it is actually really scary! I hate horror, and I'm watching this from behind a cushion in the daylight. Last episode, I screamed out loud, I was that shocked/scared

But . . . it's also about a family that is disintegrating from the mental and emotional horrors they've suffered in the past. If you like strong and believable female characters, you'll love this. I'd highly recommend it, but there are a lot of jump-scares in it, and it is scary
